Schwhat was Schmoon?

Schmoon was a group of writers who worked collaboratively to create original comedic content. The five of us put up shows all over the city. We challenged each other, encouraged each other, and most important-shared a lot laughs together. Our last project was a comedic play, Pinching and Screaming, which debuted at Second City. Pinching & Screaming

One Act Play

This story follows Annie, a high school mascot wunderkind, who after a tragic accident has her dream derailed. Ten years later, Annie now a deflated barista, gets a chance to regain her former glory. With the help of an eccentric mascot trainer, FDR, Mary Lou Retton, and a dancing unicorn in a banana suit, Annie finally gets a shot at being the mascot she was destined to be.

Pinching & Screaming debuted at Second City with an extended run at the Annoyance Theatre. The Chicago Reader gave a favorable review comparing the play's arc to the Karate Kid and calling the play a nice showcase for its endearing cast members.

Funeral Party!

Sketch Revue

Funeral Party! Our hour-long sketch comedy revue, pulled back the curtain and examined moments when a character's emotions don't quite match up with the god-awful circumstances they're up against. Funeral Party! had a four week run at Stage 773. The show featured sketches about the inception of Italian phrases, arguments among medieval roommates, and soldiers who just can't get enough of King of Queens.

Schmoon @ Sketchfest

Sketch revue

Our first independent sketch comedy revue, Schmoon Presents: Schmoon!, debuted during the 2016 Chicago Sketchfest. The revue included sketches about kissing dogs, lonely bathroom attendants, and construction workers who just want to build lasting friendships.
